Toronto new wavers Mimico recently unveiled their new single "Fate Screen," which comes from both their upcoming album and their split 7-inch with Fresh Snow. Now that track has gotten a music video.
The song has a gothic '80s vibe, and the music video fits perfectly with that aesthetic. While the synth-spiked hypno-rock song rides a creepy Krautrock groove, we see a bleary collage of VHS-style visual static, cryptically flickering images and two-tone performance footage. It was directed by David Jones and stars Julie Reich of the Toronto outfit Bile Sister. Watch it below.
The split 7-inch with Fresh Snow drops on November 25 through Reel Cod Records. The album Incantations will follow in January of 2015.
