Toronto post-rock trio MIMICO are set to release new record Hi-Action next month, but right now you can get in on the video for album cut "Common Tar."

Packed with a wealth of colourful effects, the clip's sci-fi setting will surely look familiar to locals, while the song itself is described by the band's Ben Oginz as "a play on montage-style scoring." The video was directed by Kate Young and stars Galit Yael Rodan.

Oginz continued, "The song imagines a post-human character living outside a walled city in a plastic tent village. This character is trying to download the knowledge of humanity before the last of the biological humans die out and has to steal the data from inside the walled city."

Hi-Action is set to arrive October 25 through Hand Drawn Dracula. The album is now available for pre-order.
