Without a doubt, there are a lot of people who like Bon Iver out there. Even before his recently acclaimed self-titled sophomore set came out last month, folk fans were all over the guy. Remember how quickly the disc leaked?

Well, if you live in Milwaukee, chances are you feel a little hometown pride for Wisconsin-based leader Justin Vernon. It turns out Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is a fan too, and has officially declared tomorrow (July 22) to be Bon Iver Day.

JSOnline [via Pitchfork] reports that locals will celebrate the singer-songwriter "in recognition of Justin Vernon/Bon Iver's Wisconsin and Milwaukee ties."

"Bon Iver's music embraces Justin Vernon's Wisconsin heritage, as he has become an international ambassador for both Milwaukee and Wisconsin," Barrett said in a proclamation, which you can read in full below. Coincidentally, Vernon kicks off his tour at his hometown's tomorrow. You can check out the rest of the dates here.
