Bon Iver Extends Tour, Does 'Colbert Report'
By Gregory AdamsToday (June 21) is a big day for Bon Iver and his fans. Unless you were one of the sneaky Pete's that scammed folkie Bon Iver's self-titled album when it hit the torrents late last month, or perhaps streamed it legit on Exclaim! last week, you could very well be listening to the new tunes for the very first time this very second. While we already knew that Bon Iver main man Justin Vernon was going on tour this summer, the musician is marking today's album release day with the announcement of even more concert stops.

While many of the added dates take place in Europe, Vernon did tack on some more North American stops to his trip. Canadian fans will be glad to know that this includes a visit to Vancouver's Orpheum on September 25. He will be joined by Oklahoman indie outfit Other Lives.

On top of his tour schedule, Vernon has been promoting the album on the late-night circuit. Last night (June 20), he stopped by The Colbert Report as part of the show's week-long Dr Pepper Presents StePhest Colbchella '011: Rock You Like a Thirst-icane series to discuss, among other things, women's studies, yoga and whether or not "Bon" was short for "Bonathan." You can check out a clip of the interview, as well as Vernon and co. tackling the new album single "Calgary," below.
