Exclaim! Staff Picks alum Mileena has shared her second project of the year. Her Time Spent Running EP is available to stream now.
The follow-up to her self-titled debut sees the Mississauga songwriter expanding her horizons, with her neo-soul leanings borrowing from trip-hop and alternative. With enchanting drum patterns and soft but encompassing melodies, Mileena continues on her upward trajectory.
Even with an album and EP in tow so far this year, Mileena still has more material to release. "Things have been so on the go, I feel like I'm in a constant state of growth and movement. Never still, not even for a moment. It's uncomfortable and painful and sometimes beautiful," she tells Exclaim! "The EP is just that; songs that came about while running through the seconds, hours, days, and weeks. I'm always making music, these are some songs I've been the most excited to share."
