Current Exclaim! cover star Miguel has let his mouth run as wild as his heart, having revealed in an interview that he's submerging the competition with his latest LP, including fellow modern-day R&B maker Frank Ocean.
Though the recent interview with the UK's Sunday Times [via NME] had Miguel noting he was "cordial" with Channel Orange singer, Miguel stood strong behind a belief that he's the better artist. It should be noted that this boast extends to the rest of the pop world too.
"I wouldn't say we were friends," he said of Ocean, then adding of his musical skills, "To be completely honest — and no disrespect to anyone — I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around."
When asked about comparisons between him and Ocean, Miguel noted, "It's interesting, but we'll see who's in it for the long haul. It's like a marathon, you know?"
Miguel's Wildheart landed last month, while Ocean has yet to officially announced a follow-up to 2012's Channel Orange. Ocean did, however, hint that a project could be landing sometime in July.
UPDATE: Taking to Twitter, Miguel has now addressed his comments towards Frank Ocean, and you can see his statement below.
