Messengers

Anthems

Messengers' debut EP is breath of re-circulated air. Bred in Dallas, TX, the five-piece thrash hardcore band draw inspiration from Agnostic Front and hometown heroes Pantera. The EP is very fast, hard and, well, thrashy. The seven-song record finds strength in Chad Paramore's throat ― steady and tough, he brings back the '80s and early '90s with ease, but adds a hint of modernity that keeps it fresh. Instrumentation is simple ― chugging riffs and quick beats ― but still keeps your interest. "Domicile" starts with hazy guitars and drums for over two minutes before it breaks apart for a short burst of aggression. This EP is a great throwback, building tremendous momentum for their full-length album.
