Ahead of touring together earlier this year, MGMT asked Matthew Dear to remix a track from their Little Dark Age LP. It appears Dear had some trouble picking just one, since he's now set to release an entirely remixed version of the album.

Dear's version of the album will arrive this Friday (September 28). Ahead of time, he's shared his rework of "One Thing Left to Try," which you can hear in the players below.

Dear explained in a statement that during the tour, he "learned more about the meaning of some songs and was tuned into the album at its live core. The remix followed in somewhat effortless fashion. It basically just poured out of me. I write my own albums through some sort of cultural osmosis, but those take years. This ended up being a hyper-study remix an entire album by band I admire."

MGMT and Dear will join forces once again for a European tour this November and December. Dear is set to release a new LP of his own, titled Bunny, on October 12.
