Mas Ysa

"Arrows"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 23, 2015

Canadian electronic songwriter Mas Ysa has already shared a few tracks from the forthcoming Seraph, and with the July 24 album release barely a month away, the Montrealer born Thomas Arsenault has just unveiled another cut in the form of "Arrows."

The album is an stark juxtaposition of moods. The first half of the track is a slow-burning electro-soul ballad with sustained piano chords and fragile crooning. A four-on-the-floor kick enters a couple of minutes in, and a rave-friendly synth shoots the arrangement skyward, while the vocals become more impassioned.

Arsenault said in a press release, "'Arrows' is sort of a Euro club banger, but also a very personal love song. It comes out of me wanting to make a universal, club-ready track but unwittingly giving into emotion."

Seraph will arrive through Downtown Records/MapleMusic Recordings. Scroll past Mas Ysa's tour schedule to hear the new song.
