These days, The Late Late Show is hosted by British comedian James Cordon, and he recruited a big-name UK act to perform on the show, as Manic Street Preachers were the musical guest last night (April 30).
This was apparently the veteran band's first appearance on U.S. late-night television. They played the dramatic single "A Design for Life" from 1996's Everything Must Go, giving it an impassioned run-through, with a string section clearly audible despite the fact that there were only three people on stage. They played with a Welsh flag on the stage, just to remind everyone about where they're from.
