Those who follow the Fabric mix series know that the Berlin-based duo, and Get Physical label co-owners Patrick Bodem and Phillip Jung (aka M.A.N.D.Y.), have a tough act to top. Their 25-track deep tech house mix comes hot on the heels of Ricardo Villalobos’s Fabric mix made entirely of tracks Ricardo produced himself. Despite the steady 4/4 beat, these guys keep the mix pretty low-key. Think atmospheric lounge music, nothing that demands too much attention. They kick it off with Yello’s quirky and fun "Bananas to the Beat,” followed by the raw, syncopated percussion of Guillaume & the Couto Dumonts. Fellow friends from Get Physical make an appearance: a dub version of Booka Shade’s "City Tales,” a tech-ed out beat-box exercise and DJ T.’s "The Dawn.” Highlights, also incidentally from the GP imprint, are remixes of Raz Ohara and the Odd Orchestra’s "Kisses,” and a Julian Ganzer remix of "2 Fast 4 U.”
