Macklemore is lucky to be alive after his car was hit head-on by an alleged drunk driver.
TMZ reports that the accident happened at 11 p.m. local time on Friday night (July 28) in Langley, WA, outside of Seattle. Police say the driver was rounding a corner when his pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting the "Thrift Shop" rapper's car.
Police say the truck driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and was reportedly knocked unconscious after his head hit the windshield of his vehicle. The accident report reveals that the driver said he had a drink "a while back," later telling officers it was at "5 o'clock."
Macklemore had two other passengers in the car with him at the time of the crash, with only one needing treatment for a minor cut on his or her head. Washington State police tell TMZ that the truck driver will be charged with DUI.
The rapper's camp has yet to comment on the incident publicly.
