M83's Morgan Kibby to Explore The Frontier This Fall

Chanteuse Morgan Kibby (best known for her work with French dream pop group M83) is prepping a digital solo EP under the moniker White Sea.

Available for download on October 5, The Frontier is a five-song EP that promises to "explode with cinematic crescendos, tinkling chimes, shining harmonies, dramatic bass lines, party beats, tempered synthesizer," according to a press release. Two tracks (a remix of "Synchronize" by the band Solid Gold and an original song called "Overdrawn") are available at Kibby's MySpace. A track listing for the EP is still pending.

Kibby (an L.A. resident) is the voice heard in the movie trailers for M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water, as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She also fronted L.A.-based indie rock band The Romanovs.

Kibby has been involved with M83 since 2008, contributing keyboards and arrangements to their fifth full-length, Saturdays=Youth, as well as touring with the band for the past couple of years.

Kibby and her precious pipes plan to tour as White Sea in support of the new digital solo EP, according to Consequence of Sound, but so far no dates have been announced.
