Filmmaker David Lynch made his name with surrealistic journeys into the subconscious, but there's also his sweet, sentimental side fascinated by the effluvium of honest, unpretentious folks and their day-to-day lives - the side that made the beautiful G-rated 1999 film The Straight Story. On June 1, he's launching Interview Project (interviewproject.davidlynch.comK), a yearlong series in 121 parts. Every three days, he'll offer up a short film profile of an average American: hopes, dreams, struggles and accomplishments. Not famous, not notable, just folks - and they promise to be as beautiful and heartbreaking as his features are strange and thought provoking.
