The Arts & Crafts family just got a little bigger, with news that the Canadian imprint has added Lowell to its roster.

First up from the Canadian artist will be her I Killed Sara V. EP, which will be released February 25. According to a press release, the five-song set was written in Kensaltown Studios in London, UK, and features synth-driven melodies paired with socially conscious lyrics focusing on "sexual abuse, rape, abortion and women's rights," among other topics. The EP is said to be "confronting social norms" and "defending equality" while keeping things melodic and danceable.

Down below, you can sample opening track "Cloud 69," which shakes on by via textured marching band drum ticks, brain-drilling electronic bass pulsations and some lyrics summarizing the roughed-up activity of some bad boys.

Details have yet to arrive in full, but I Killed Sara V. precedes a forthcoming, as-yet-untitled full-length that is also due sometime in 2014. The EP follows Lowell's 2012 If You Can Solve This Jumble collaborative release with Coldplay/Mew offshoot Apparatjik.
