Lovetta Pippen is the singer on the latest project from Warn Defever (aka, His Name Is Alive), called "Someday My Blues Will Cover the Earth."
Current fixations:
UFO's, Al Green, big hair.
Mind-altering work of art:
"Twelve Monkeys"
Most memorable or inspirational gig and why?
"Divas Live." Aretha declares "I am still the freaking Queen goddamit!"
What has been your career high and low?
I haven't had much of one, this could be the lowest or the highest. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
What should everyone shut up about?
World peace.
I would drop everything to play a benefit for:
Probably an organisation that hasn't been formed yet, having to do with helping abused children, it would help kids all the way, not just a few years of their lives.
What trait do you like and dislike most about yourself?
I love too much.
What would make you kick someone out of your band and/or bed, and have you?
Lack of talent.
When I think of Canada I think:
Beer.
What is your vital daily ritual?
Making sure I stay alive.
How do you spoil yourself?
I don't, but I plan to. I don't have the means to spoil myself at this point.
What was your most memorable day job?
McDonalds.
If I wasn't playing music I would be:
Lawyer.
What is your greatest fear?
Death.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
The ability to read minds, live forever, or be all knowing.
What makes you want to take it off and get it on?
Jodeci, Kenny Lattimore, Isley Brothers.
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why?
Totally different, but they both go hand in hand.
Strangest brush with celebrity:
A childhood friend tried to get me on a popular TV talk show to tell me he was now a she.
Who would be your ideal dinner guest, living or dead, and what would you serve them?
I would like to go back in time and ask some people what the hell they are doing.
What does your mom wish you were doing instead?
I don't know.
