Louise Burns Returns with Cover of Depeche Mode's "See You"

It's been a few years since Louise Burns released Portraits, and now the Vancouver singer-songwriter has returned with a cover of Depeche Mode's "See You."

The song was co-produced by Burns and Jason Corbett of ACTORS. Burns said in a statement, "This was the first song Jason Corbett and I did together and served as a great chemistry test. We both love Depeche Mode and that era of music, yet wanted to create something new and fresh rather than throwback oriented."

This fresh, new take means turning the synthpop anthem into a more slow-burning psych ballad. Hear the song below, via Light Organ Records.

Evidently, this is just the beginning of the new material from Burns, since a press release promises "more new music coming soon."

Burns recently participated in Exclaim!'s sports-themed Show & Tell photo gallery of the "secret jocks" of the Canadian music industry.
