Beloved country songwriter Loretta Lynn is in a Nashville hospital tonight after suffering a stroke Thursday night (May 4) in her Tennessee home.
The 85-year-old was slated to begin a tour tonight in Durham, NC, though that date and all her upcoming shows have now been cancelled.
According to a post on her website, "She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery."
It also adds, "Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed."
Lynn is slated to release her new studio album Wouldn't It Be Great on August 18.
She's won three Grammys and in 2015 was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville.
