Australian singer-songwriter Liz Stringer is set to follow up 2012's The Darkness with a new full-length titled All the Bridges next week. Before it arrives, Exclaim! is giving you the chance to hear the album in its entirety.
The new set of songs was recorded with producer Adam Selzer last summer at Type Foundry in Portland, where Stringer enlisted local musicians Luke Ydstie and Ben Nugent to form her reliably solid rhythm section.
Upbeat '80s-inspired guitars and peppy percussion keep the songs moving along at a catchy clip, but it's Stringer's smoky, emotive vocals that really capture attention and draw listeners deep into the music. She drew on the experience of being far from home while writing the tracks, letting the final product serve as an homage to both the people she misses and the new bonds she's formed during her travels.
Fall under the electric spell of Stringer's '80s-esque pop-rockers by giving all 10 tracks from All the Bridges an early listen. It's out on July 1 through Roaring Girl Records/Fontana North, but you can scroll past her upcoming Canadian tour dates and hit play to hear it right now.
