Little Wings Treats His 'Wonderue' Album to Vinyl Reissue

Revisit "Shredder Sequel" from Kyle Field's 2002 effort

While Kyle Field has stayed plenty busy in recent years, the prolific indie songwriter is now revisiting one of his first great highlights as Little Wings. This fall, Field will be treating his long-out-of-print K Records debut Wonderue to a much-deserved vinyl reissue.

The 2002 album will get a second lease on life via Moone Records, which will reissue Wonderue on vinyl on November 29.

The record was originally captured by Field in the fall, winter and spring of 2000 to 2001 in the Pacific Northwest, roping in the likes of Mount Eerie's Phil Elverum (then Phil Elvrum of the Microphones) and Karl Blau to lend a hand.

To refresh your memory, Moone Records explains the following of the album:

Wonderue reinforced Kyle's knack for loosely structured, yet deeply resonant compositions. Each recording on the album had a way of welcoming listeners in to reflect and sing along as if in the company of his band. There was a magic Kyle conjured throughout the course of Wonderue — a wide-eyed optimism and ease that he imparts to his listeners to this day. In its totality, Wonderue was an album that effortlessly billowed and spilled over with sounds and imagery that evoked festivity, meditation, and a theme of Wonder.

For the reissue, Moone Records worked closely alongside Field, who even went back to the 2002 Wonderue cover photo locations to reshoot the image for the reissue. You can see this new version of the cover above. The album has also been remastered by Richard Houghten.

For a taste of what's in store, you can stream the album's "Shredder Sequel" down below, where you'll also find the reissue's tracklist.

Right now, you can pre-order the Wonderue reissue.

Little Wings most recently released his album Ropes in Paradise earlier this year. Just the other day, he also popped up onstage to pay tribute to the late David Berman.
