Sufjan Stevens is previewing his upcoming two-and-a-half-hour-long album, Convocations, with its fourth volume, Celebrations, streaming via YouTube today.
Convocations is Stevens' direct follow-up to 2020's The Ascension. The album was written and recorded following the death of Stevens' father in September and explores the cycles of grief.
Next Thursday, prior to the full album's release at 1 p.m. ET, he'll drop the fifth and final volume, Incantations, at 12 p.m. ET.
In addition to next week's digital release, Convocations is also set to arrive as a 5-LP vinyl box set on August 20 through Asthmatic Kitty. Pre-orders are available here.
