Dan Mangan has shared Felix Cartal's remix of "Just Know It" from his JUNO-nominated album Being Somewhere.
The indie-pop veteran enlisted his fellow Vancouver native to rework the two-minute gentle piano ballad, turning it into a nearly four-minute, synth-heavy EDM production with the distorted vocals to match.
Mangan had this to say about hearing a brand new version of his song: "I love the idea that songs can live many lives. I've known Felix for a bit now and I love his general energy and approach. I encouraged him to make it his own. This Sunset Mix of 'Just Know It' feels like a drive down Hwy 101. It also gives me hope that I might finally hear one of my songs while getting my haircut."
The "Just Know It" remix marks Cartal's first release of the year following December's "Down to Earth" and is Mangan's first since Being Somewhere came out in October.
