Lil Wayne Preps Mobile Skateboarding Game

Thanks to an ongoing battle with Cash Money Records, once-prolific rapper Lil Wayne has slowed his roll. Sure, he still manages to drop the odd guest verse, but his output is significantly smaller. Fortunately, he's found time to focus on his other passion — becoming a videogame skateboarder.

Weezy already pop-shoved his way into last year's critically reviled (but secretly kind of fun) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, but since you most likely read the reviews and avoided that game like the plague, you probably didn't know that. Fortunately, the rapper will step out once again with a skate game of his very own.

According to MTV, Lil Wayne is set to release a mobile skateboarding game that will bring fans through New Orleans. The game is called Lil Wayne: Sqvad Up (which, we've got to say, is a pretty vgly title) and will also feature a soundtrack curated by the rapper.

"I'm super excited to drop my first mobile skateboarding game Lil Wayne: Sqvad Up as a way to share my passion for skateboarding," the rapper said in a statement. "It's also special to celebrate all that makes my home of Hollygrove and New Orleans such a dope place."

He continued, "I started skateboarding at 29, not just because I thought it looked cool, but also because I wanted to be able to inspire kids to get outside and play. Skating is a perfect way for kids today to stay out of trouble and be positive and active."

It's not exactly clear how an addictive mobile game will help one be active outside, but we digress....

Sqvad Up will hit the Apple Store and Google Play on June 10.
