Lil Silva is set to deliver debut album Yesterday Is Heavy next month, and the UK polymath has revealed a pair of its Canadian connections in Charlotte Day Wilson and Skiifall with the arrival of two new songs.
Today, the producer, singer-songwriter and DJ has shared "What If?" with Skiifall and "Leave It" with Wilson, both of which you can hear below.
On the former, the fast-rising Caribbean-Canadian sounds right at home amidst funky house production, while the latter finds Silva and Wilson's affecting vocal leading listeners into a dembow rhythm and a promise that "we've only just begun." Notably, "Leave It" also gives a writing credit to Jamie Woon, the elusive singer-songwriter who last released Making Time in 2015.
Yesterday Is Heavy is due out July 15 via Nowhere Music Ltd., and also features collaborations with Sampha, Ghetts, Little Dragon and serpentwithfeet. The album is now available for pre-order.
