Tom Wilson previously played in Junkhouse and is currently a member of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, but the Ontario songwriter also has his own project called Lee Harvey Osmond. It is under this banner that he will release The Folk Sinner on January 15 through Latent Recordings.
The 10-song collection was produced by returning studio collaborator and Cowboy Junkie Michael Timmins, who also helmed Lee Harvey Osmond's 2009 album A Quiet Evil. The new disc features guest appearances from Hawksley Workman, Oh Susanna, Colin Linden, Skydiggers singer Andy Maize, Paul Reddick and Margo Timmins of Cowboy Junkies.
The album is a mix of toe-tapping folk rock and gruff country dirges, and the proceedings are given an eclectic twist by the jagged guitar squall of "Leave the House," the soft rock woodwinds of "Freedom" and the jazzy sparseness of "Oh, Linda."
