The Last Shadow Puppets Tease 2016 Release in New Trailer

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 3, 2015

The Last Shadow Puppets heard Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, Miles Kane of the Rascals and James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco come together for 2008's The Age of Understatement LP. And while they did follow it up with a North American-only EP titled My Mistakes Were Made for You in 2009, the supergroup haven't released any new material since. It looks like that's about to change in 2016.

The group released a minute-long trailer simply labelled "TLSP2" today (December 3), which features mysterious footage of the band in the studio, on the road, getting haircuts and hanging out with puppies. The final shot sees Turner stepping up to a microphone and asking "What needs doing?" before the visuals cut out and "Spring 2016" flashes on to the screen.

Details are obviously scarce, but it seems that the high-profile collaborative project definitely have something in the works for next year.

Rumours about a new album and potential guest collaborators have been swirling since Owen Pallett, who contributed to the Last Shadow Puppets' first album, tweeted on October 9: "That rare and thrilling moment when the record you're working on crosses the threshold into Classic Status #tlsp2." The tweet was quickly deleted, but certainly adds to the intrigue and anticipation about any upcoming projects.
