Lake are quietly prepping a follow-up to 2011's Giving and Receiving called Circular Doorway, but the Olympia, WA indie-pop collective let loose the first sample of the set last night (May 13) during an episode of Adventure Time. The song, "No Wonder I," is now available to stream or purchase.
The new track premiered on the animated series as the favourite song of handheld-gaming-unit cutie BMO and displays a tender, bossa nova-styled acoustic guitar plucking, a cyclical tom thump and cherry blossom-eyeballing lyrics. While details are still pending on the LP, the song's soft refrain of "Every cloud has a silver lining" reminds us that, at the very least, we've got a little bit of Lake music to keep us busy until the info arrives in full.
