Lagwagon

Hoss / Let's Talk About Feelings / Double Plaidinum

Legendary punks Lagwagon were the first to sign to Fat Wreck Chords, accumulating over 20 years of material to date. To celebrate, each of the first five albums are now remastered in digital format with original artwork intact, available in CD or vinyl, individually or as a boxset (Putting Music In Its Place) and packed with bonus material. Double Plaidinum includes five acoustic tracks. The rendition of "Alien 8" features a full-band plus an accordion, while "Making Friends" has a haunting piano melody and "Brodeo" features only singer/songwriter Joey Cape and a guitar. Hoss focuses on Lagwagon's earlier demos ("Sick," "Shaving Your Head"), as well as an acoustic version of "Black Eyes." Let's Talk About Feeling is packed full of unreleased tracks, along with early versions of "Messengers" and a must-hear acoustic version of "May 16th." As Cape writes in the intro, Let's Talk About Feelings was a turning point for Lagwagon, as far as songwriting style, and may have been a catalyst for spin-off band Bad Astronaut. The final three of the first five albums from Lagwagon showcase the band's unique capability to progress lyrically and experiment with tempo and chord structures without veering away from their highly melodic, speedy pop punk.
