Of Exclaim! New Faves fame, Montreal art punks La Sécurité have announced their debut full-length album. The collective — which features Laurence-Anne and members of Choses Sauvages, Jesuslesfilles and Silver Dapple — are sharing the news alongside lead single "Anyway."

Stay Safe! is out June 16 via Mothland. It was co-produced by the band's bassist Félix Bélisle and Samuel Gemme, and includes 2022 singles "Suspens" and "Try Again."

"Some of it is in French, some of it is in English, but it's not just fun and games… it also bites," vocalist Melissa Di Menna said of the record, which tackles themes ranging from mental health and women's bodily autonomy to video games and running late. "It's catchy earworms delivered with a punk attitude."

Not only straddling languages, La Sécurité have proven themselves to be all about balancing extremes, oscillating between the light and the dark, deep care and unabashed raucousness, and tacking their post- prefix onto disco and punk in equal measure — all with an undeniable synergy.

This is present in spades on the album's fiery lead single, which attempts to shrug off a devastating experience. "This song was written in the early stages of dealing with grief related to miscarriage and pleads a sort of surrender to the strain it can put on a couple processing all this," Éliane Viens-Synnott explained in a press release.
