Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett first hinted at a collaborative record upon announcing a joint tour back in June. While there were no concrete details as to when the disc would arrive, some teasers from the two indicate it may be closer than we think.
UPDATE (08/29, 12:07 p.m. EST): As Rolling Stone reports, the album is titled Lotta Sea Lice and will see release in October.
Short animated clips on each of their Twitter accounts show an email exchange between the two, while also including the message "August 31 Australia and New Zealand, August 30 everywhere else…" You can find them both below.
As previously reported, Vile and Barnett will be backed on tour by the Sea Lice, a band featuring Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Wild Flag), Rob Laakso (the Violators, the Swirlies, Mice Parade), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), and Katie Harkin (Sky Larkin).
The collaborative album will arrive through Matador, Marathon Artists and Milk!
