Maybe its the new guitar player, maybe its the extra time spent in the studio. Whatever it is, this fourth long player from Calgarys Knucklehead is their finest offering yet. The New Blacklist is chock full of well-rounded, melodic street punknroll with tons of catchy choruses and hooks aplenty. Theyve been around for 11 years now and it shows in the tight musicianship and superior songwriting. A self-described left-leaning band, Knuckleheads songs are timely and topical, personal and political, taking on everything from "right-wing assholes mindless consumerism and homelessness to a friends battle with the bottle. Fans of bands like the Clash, the Class Assassins and the Swinging Utters take note. Yet another fine Stumble Records release.
