We're kind of obsessed with the King Khan & BBQ Show here at Exclaim!, so we've been losing our minds since we heard they'd be teaming up for a new album this winter. Unfortunately, the release date for Invisible Girl has apparently been moved from November 3 to "mid-November."
But don't fret, we also bear some good news. Beginning with the excellent-sounding Vice Garage Festival in Portland on October 17, the duo will take their stomping garage jams on the road for a large North American tour. By late November, KK and BBQ will be hitting up Canada for shows in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Toronto.
As for the album, Invisible Girl, the press release says fans can expect "a return to the trade-mark Doo-Wop-laced, anthemic garage rock that earned the band both their fame and infamy," adding that the album exhibits "effortless fluency in rock'n'roll's tenets and traditions." However, it also says it "includes a song so vile that it cannot even be mentioned." By the looks of that album cover posted above, we believe them.
