So this is "Nu-Metal," I see. Machine Head can be blamed - their Burn My Eyes debut made everyone run to Colin Richardson to produce their albums, giving them that bass-heavy sound to go along with the tuff vocals (with the "clean, singy parts," too, of course) and street smart attitude. Unfortunately, boy does this stuff all sound the same, aiming for an Oz-fest billing and a deal with Roadrunner, rather than any sort of musical progression or emotional release. Kill II This add some electronic beats and a bit more of a hip-hop groove, but, really, whatever.
