KEN Mode

"The Terror Pulse"

Winnipeg's KEN Mode are ready to concuss fans this March via the release of their Entrench LP, but the noise-rock unit and Exclaim! are offering up an early ear-assault via a stream of album track "The Terror Pulse."

While kicking off with peeling distortion, the song surges into a tough-as-nails amalgam of slow-stompin' grooves and speaker cone-rupturing guitar and bass fuzz — discordant scale-climbing and eerie screams sidle into the mid-section like the second coming of Deadguy.

Fittingly, the Matt Bayles-produced album "further asserts the band's stance against a stagnant take on rock, metal and hardcore," according to the press release, and features guest vocals from former Deadguy/Kiss It Goodbye vocalist Tim Singer, as well as Narrows' Dave Verellen.

As previously reported, KEN Mode are heading out on tour with Today Is the Day, Black Tusk and more. You can find an updated schedule, which has Canadian stops scheduled between Vancouver and Montreal, over here.

Entrench arrives March 19 via in the U.S. Season of Mist and New Damage Records in Canada.
