After releasing one of the best EPs of 2022, Toronto-by-way-of-Saskatoon neo-soul singer-songwriter Katie Tupper is back to help you (and herself) find solace with lush new single "Comfort."
The track, a very mature and optimistic meditation on unrequited love, is the latest preview of the artist's forthcoming sophomore EP, Where to Find Me — titled after some lyrics from the silk-spun hook of "Comfort." It follows her earlier 2023 single, "Woman No."
"I wrote 'Comfort' as a way to work through some feelings I was having for someone really close to me," Tupper explained in a press release. "I knew that it wasn't possible to have anything more than a friendship and even that felt so lucky to have."
The sensual and sunny mid-tempo tune sees the singer-songwriter being a very cool, chill girl and finding gratitude in the situation of being "one comfort of many." She's perhaps stronger than most, but this is a very lovely reframing of difficult feelings!
Listen to "Comfort" below.
Tupper will open City and Colour's Toronto show at Budweiser Stage this summer.
