Kate Bush's House in Danger of Falling into the Ocean

Kate Bush's wuthering heights might soon come tumbling down, since the legendary art-pop singer's house is reportedly at risk of sliding into the ocean.

This is according to the Exeter Express and Echo [via NME, which reports that her mansion in Devon, UK, is in peril following a large landslide last year. This geological event caused part of the cliffs to fall into water 88 feet below; this left her neighbour's property on the brink, with Bush's also in danger.

Last week, local officials warned that more collapses are possible. Devon County Council's Steve Gardner is quoted as saying, "If you live there you can either accept it and let your house fall into the sea, or you can take action to prevent further damage, although that can cost hundreds of thousands. You can attach netting to the cliff face, or another option is spraying it with concrete, although these are very expensive and not something the council would pay for."

Although the price of reinforcing the cliffs is steep, it's nothing compared to the house itself, which sits on 17 acres and cost Bush £2.5 million ($4.48 million Canadian) in 2005.

On the bright side, last year's landslide resulted in the closure of a nearby footpath, which Bush had been campaigning to have removed. And even if she does need to put a lot of money towards the house, at least she's got some extra cash coming in thanks to her comeback concerts.
