As a small bit of solace in this (mad) world, Kate Bush remains the name on everyone's lips following the 2022 resurgence of "Running Up That Hill" due to its prominent feature in Stranger Things 4. (She even made DJ Earworm's United State of Pop mashup.) So what better time to reissue her book, 2018's How to Be Invisible: Selected Lyrics, on paperback, complete with hidden messages from the ever-evasive pop icon secretly planted in select copies?
Published through Faber, the book arrives on paperback on April 6 in the UK and May 9 in the US. It features a new cover design by illustrator Jim Kay, as well as a new introduction written by Bush.
As per the announcement on her website, "Kate has also written a message in invisible ink in a very small number of the signed copies, which will be distributed at random: the notes will be revealed to the lucky recipients when they place the signature page under an ultraviolet light."
Only a very limited quantity of signed copies will be available. They can be pre-ordered from select independent record stores and bookshops in the UK starting tomorrow (January 20).
We know Bush loves a little secret message! To close off her unprecedented 2022, she wished us a happy holiday alongside a humble little robin.
