Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O has published a new performance to her Instagram while in isolation, a stripped-down acoustic rendition of "Our Time," the last track on the band's 2001 self-titled EP.
According to Setlist.com, Karen O and the band haven't performed the track since way back in 2010 during their 10th anniversary show in New York City at the Mercury Lounge.
Of the performance, she wrote:
So maybe you hate the year so far — don't blame you if you do — it's the year to be hated. Here's a YYY deep cut from my heart to yours, and fuck yeah for every day you make it through knowing somehow it's gonna be alright... but couldn't do it without the essential workers.
The video shows the artist inside a corridor decorated with banners and twinkle lights, and begins and ends with the "stage door" being opened and shut by a tiny young stagehand.
"We've been in quarantine for exactly a month now and I just wanted to sing a song for you," O says in the video. "This is the first song I ever wrote for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs."
