Ottawa singer-songwriter Kalle Mattson returned with "Broken in Two" earlier this year, and now he's unveiled another single dubbed "Kids on the Run."
The track will appear on Mattson's forthcoming full-length album, which hears him moving away from his folksier influences and working with pop producer Colin Munroe.
"This song was my attempt to write about millennials and the economic, environmental, and sociological realities people my generation face," Mattson said in a statement. "And yes, it is all obviously very indebted to Springsteen."
In true millennial fashion, the accompanying video for "Kids on the Run" features a barrage of memes. Everything from Elmo to crying Dawson to Tide pods to "Hotline Bling" makes an appearance.
