Ballistics

BY Stuart GreenPublished Oct 1, 2003

The ever-prolific Saskatoon trio's fourth release in as many years is another slice of Canadiana-influenced post-rock. Sounding like a weird twangy alterna-rock cross between the Northern Pikes, Jane's Addiction and Chris Isaak, they refuse to be pigeon-holed. While the disc opens with the swirling psychedelic title track, it's not long before it settles in with the organ-enhanced simple chug of "Anti-Aircraft” and the refined Western strumming of "Spontaneous Human Combustion."
