Back in February, Brooklyn, NY songstress Julianna Barwick released The Magic Place, her acclaimed Asthmatic Kitty debut. The album sees her building haunting, ethereal songs out of looped vocals and sparse instrumentation. On record, it's an addictive listen that begs the question of what Barwick must be like in a live setting.
Fortunately, that question will be answered soon, as Barwick has planned a lengthy world tour over the next few months. Later in April, she will play some shows in the United States before hopping the pond for a trek through Europe.
In June, Barwick will return to North America, where she will make three Canadian stops, appearing at Toronto's NXNE and Calgary's Sled Island, as well as an opening slot for Okkervil River and Titus Andronicus in Vancouver on June 20.
