Chicago rapper Juice WRLD has passed away. The performer, who was born Jarad Anthony Higgins, died suddenly earlier today. He was 21.

As TMZ reports, Higgins's plane from California landed at Chicago's Midway airport early this morning. According to witnesses, he reportedly suffered a seizure while walking through the airport.

The rapper was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

UPDATE (12/09, 7:20 p.m. EST): The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has now revealed the results of Juice WRLD's autopsy, ruling the findings were inclusive. As the New York Times reports, the rapper suffered the fatal seizures when police boarded his plane at  Chicago Midway International Airport to search for narcotics at around 1 a.m. local time. Authorities confirmed media reports that roughly 70 pounds of marijuana, six bottles of codeine cough syrup and three firearms were discovered.

After being treated with Narcan — typically used to combat opioid overdoses — Juice WRLD was then taken to a hospital, where he died shortly after 3 a.m.

Juice WRLD achieved massive mainstream success with his hit single "Lucid Dreams" in 2018. That year, he also collaborated with Lil Yachty and Travis Scott, in addition to releasing the album-length Future collaboration WRLD on Drugs.
