Former Exclaim! cover star Jorja Smith has yet to deliver a full follow-up to Lost & Found, her 2018 debut that claimed a spot as one of our top Soul and R&B albums of 2018. As with standalone tracks like 2019's "Be Honest," however, her latest single proves the new material has been worth the wait.
"Addicted" is a slow-burning and low-key R&B track that has arrived via a new, self-directed video. As Smith explained, the song is about "focusing on wanting the full attention of someone who's not giving enough (or any) when they should be."
The song arrives via a new video that was self-directed by the artist with help from collaborator Savanah Leaf.
"The video is multiple versions of me singing the song; having fun dressing up, not trying to be too serious and just giving myself more freedom," said Smith.
