SiriusXM has announced the launch of a limited-time radio channel dedicated to Joni Mitchell, celebrating her choice as MusiCares' person of the year.

The channel premieres today on the SiriusXM app and will run until April 14. However, on the SiriusXM satellite service, the channel will only be available for a week, running from March 30 to April 5.

Both the app and satellite versions of the channel align with the dates that Mitchell is being honoured by the Recording Academy's MusiCares charity at its annual gala dinner in Las Vegas, where the Grammys will be taking place two days later.

In a statement about the channel, senior VP and general manager of music programming at SiriusXM Steve Blatter said:

Joni Mitchell redefined female musicianship with her songwriting, complexity, and voice, which has had a profound influence on musicians that have followed her. Not only is this channel an ode to Mitchell's integral impact on music and her timeless songs, but also a carefully curated collaboration we are honoured to be a part of and have our listeners experience.

One could say that Mitchell redefined musicianship period, but you get the idea. In a statement released by the service, Mitchell said, "It's a thrill to have my own SiriusXM channel."
