Guitar legend Johnny Marr is releasing a greatest hits compilation. Spirit Power: The Best of Johnny Marr arrives November 3 via BMG.
The tracks for the comp were personally selected by Marr, and span the last ten years of his career. Two new songs also made the cut — "The Answer" and "Somewhere" — the latter released as a single today.
"I've played a lot of arenas over the years, and in terms of songwriting, there's nowhere to hide," Marr said of "Somewhere" via press release. "For a song to work, it has to be a banger. I know it's almost uncool to think in those terms, but I grew up in a house where my parents listened to Motown, where you couldn't get a song released if it wasn't full of hooks."
We guess "greatest hits" is a subjective term, but at least we're also getting Marr's book Marr's Guitars, this fall.
