While it may be disappointing to some, punk hero John Lydon — a.k.a. Johnny Rotten — is a vocal Trump supporter. And to make sure you know that, the Public Image/Sex Pistols singer appeared on U.K. TV to broacast his MAGA loyalty in a seriously angry rant.
This morning — long after the U.S. election polls closed — Lydon appeared on Good Morning Britain, where he appeared live from his Los Angeles home.
"I'm working-class English," Lydon said. "It makes complete sense to me to vote for a person who actually talks about my kind of people."
He added: "Trump's not a politician. He's never claimed to be. How unusually, exceptionally wonderful is that for people like me?
"We're bored with your intellectual left-wing ideas. We can't take more of ya. You talk twaddle. Everything you do, you just miss the point of who the general population are…"
And while that's a pretty level-headed thing to say actually, Lydon then kinda started to lose it on presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan, raising his voice over them as he yell-talked on top of them.
When Reid tried to interject, Lydon blasted out a "No let me finish,' before bringing his face up frighteningly close to the camera. "Don't interrupt, it's rude!"
Lydon then yelled, "It does NOTHING for these people. NOTHING. And this is why they now support him so loyally because he is the only hope."
So yeah, things got more than a little tense and awkward, and you can watch the clip below via Metro. But be warned, Metal Box won't ever quite sound the same again.
