John K. Samson's Winter Wheat arrives today (October 20), and in addition to the new record, the former Weakerthans frontman is also treating fans to a new music video.
"Postdoc Blues" has been given the video treatment by director Nathan Boey, and the clip heavily references the work of the Leap Manifesto — a coalition of Canadian authors, activists, musicians and citizens advocating for "respect for Indigenous rights, internationalism, human rights, diversity, and environmental stewardship."
The video takes a fairly literal approach to translating Samson's lyrics into animated scenes, but the illustrations and gorgeous colour palette are sure to keep viewers engaged. See it for yourself in the player below.
