Synth-loving horror master John Carpenter has grafted some spooky and philosophical visuals to one of his "lost themes." Blurring the lines of reality is the mini-movie for "Utopian Facade."
Directed by Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst, the video chronicles the journey of a clone, who has escaped a factory scene of sorts to enter a forest haunted by tri-eyed monsters and rotted-out walkers. With purpose, and even while under attack, she passes off a mysterious, glowing package to a helmed wanderer. But, is he really there?
Full of allusions to sci-fi and horror flicks of the past — the blonde-wigged clone's outfit even carrying a bit of a breathable, aerobic Stormtooper vibe to it — you can see the piece below.
"Utopian Facade" appears on Carpenter's Lost Themes II, out now on Sacred Bones.
