Beast Coast rapper and Pro Era ringleader Joey Bada$$ is set to deliver his long-awaited debut LP B4.Da.$$ this month, but things aren't all good for the performer. While performing at the Falls Music and Arts Festival in Australia over the weekend, he was arrested after allegedly assaulting a security guard.
Details are scarce, but the Sydney Morning Herald reports [via FACT] that the performer allegedly punched a security guard in the face, breaking his nose in the process.
The whole thing went down around 8:30 p.m., after which the rapper was arrested by Byron Bay Police and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The rapper then appeared in court on Saturday (January 3) after which he was granted bail. Looks like he'll be headed back down under soon, as his next court appearance is set for March 19.
UPDATE: A rep for Joey Bada$$ has now shared the following statement: "There was a misunderstanding with security at the Byron Falls Festival show, which resulted in charges being laid by NSW Police. After fully cooperating with police, Joey was granted bail and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge."
B4.Da.$$, on the other hand, is set to arrive on January 20 via Cinematic Music Group/Pro Era.
