While Joe Strummer is primarily recognized as a co-founder of the Clash, his music career reaches much farther than his accomplishments with the British punk outfit. That material will now be revisited with a new box set collection.

The Joe Strummer 001 box set is set to arrive September 28 through Ignition Records. The set will include Strummer's work with the 101ers, the Mescaleros, his complete solo catalogue, soundtrack work and an album of unreleased material.

"London Is Burning" — an alternative/early version of "Burnin' Street" from Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros' final album, 2003's Streetcore — is available now over here.

The compilation was overseen by Joe's widow Luce, as well as Robert Gordon McHarg III. All tracks were mastered by Peter J. Moore at the E. Room in Toronto.

Joe Strummer 001 will be available digitally in addition to 2-CD and 4-LP formats, including deluxe double-CD and deluxe vinyl box editions. The latter will feature the album on four heavyweight vinyl LPs and include a 7-inch single, cassette, A4 Book, enamel badge, art print, screen print, lyrics and sticker sheet.

You can pre-order the collection in its various formats here.

Joe Strummer passed away in 2002.
